As I was creating my video, putting the footage I had shot together, I realised that it was all quite samey. After thinking about it I decided to put something else in to break it up a bit and make it a little bit different. I chose to put in some ‘animation’. Though it’s not really animation, this is the best way to describe it as it consists of several pictures put together to create a near moving image. I drew these on paint before uploading them onto Imovie and making it so they flowed fairly well, one after the other.
I think it adds the little bit of individuality that I was looking for and believe that it works well with what I already have.

This particular sequence (above) is of the girl in the video crying. It is put with the line ‘there’s a time to cry’. I think it works well here because it has a lot to do with what is being said, but as it is done differently from the rest of the stuff and so, as the next line it ‘but it’s not tonight’ with footage of the girl not crying, it makes the audience think that it is, perhaps, a different time or place. It is, in reality, a different dimension; the footage being 3D while the animation pictures are 2D.
This one was too long to put in at first so I broke it down into two different sections and put them into my video separately.

It was here that I ended the first section of it. This one (above) is still quite long but, as the music is slowing where I put it, I think it works well. It’s put near the end where things are winding down and the girl is starting to realise that all is not lost. It is when you see the guy’s words start to take effect.

This one is the final one. This is the images that come at the end of the video, finishing it before fading to black. I think it works well as it’s almost like she can finally see the light and so is finally smiling again. After all, that is the way to recovery from a broken heart.
